A subsriber to my newsletter asked me this question: “Are there too many celebrants now?” And she wasn’t the first to ask, ‘is the Celebrant market flooded?’
And I understand why people ask. Maybe you’ve been thinking about training as a celebrant yourself. Perhaps you’ve started noticing lots of celebrant posts on social media. It’s got you wondering, “Is there really room for me?”
Here’s my honest answer:
The market isn’t flooded. It’s evolving.
There are more celebrants now than there were ten years ago. But that’s not a problem—that’s a sign of growth. It means that more and more people are discovering just how powerful, personal, and life-affirming celebrant-led ceremonies can be.
And that’s a good thing.
Because every year, more couples, families, and communities are choosing bespoke, meaningful ceremonies over traditional formats that don’t feel like them. They want to honour identity, culture, creativity, and emotion. They want something real.
And to meet that growing need? We need more celebrants—more diverse voices, more styles, more stories.

You don’t need to be the loudest. You need to be yourself.
It’s easy to look around and feel like everyone else has already got it all figured out. But here’s what I remind my trainees:
Celebrancy isn’t about competing. It’s about connecting.
People don’t choose celebrants just because they’re “the best” or the most established, or even because they have the most testimonials. They choose the person who makes them feel seen. The one who listens. That individual who gets them and makes them feel able to express what they need.
That could be you.
So, is there space for you in this work?
If you’re drawn to Celebrancy because you care about people…
You value empathy, inclusion, and the importance of storytelling…
Holding space for others, whilst they are in the spotlight, feels more comfortable than seeking the spotlight for yourself.
Then yes. There is definitely space for you.
And not just space—a need. For your voice. Your kindness. Your way of working.
That’s what I teach. Not how to be a carbon copy. But how to step into this work in your own rhythm, with skill and confidence and support. And authenticity.
Because the celebrant market is not flooded.
It’s opening up—and it’s more beautiful when you’re part of it.
