Lisa T. – Funeral Celebrant Student (Pre-Recorded)

Dinah is an excellent trainer and coach. She captures everything you need to know in an accessible and interesting way. She has a beautiful tone and turn of phrase so you feel equipped to respond to a wide range of scenarios.

She is generous and kind. Her approach has given me so much inspiration.

My Approach

Becoming a Funeral Celebrant is deeply personal work—and I believe your training should reflect that. My approach centres on kindness, clarity, and respect for your individual learning style. Whether you’re neurodivergent, returning to study after time away, or simply unsure of where to begin, you’ll find a safe and inclusive environment here.

This work calls for emotional intelligence, empathy, and excellent listening—and those are the values I bring into every session. I’m not here to give you a script to memorise. I’m here to help you develop your voice, build your confidence, and create ceremonies that genuinely honour lives with warmth, dignity, and care.

This training is built around the belief that your voice matters — and that you can use it to create comfort, healing, and meaningful change.

My Process

This training is structured, clear, and grounded in real-world experience. Each module offers a mix of theory, reflection, and practical tools to help you grow—not just as a celebrant, but as a business owner.

You’ll learn how to communicate with grieving families, how to gather meaningful stories with sensitivity, and how to craft bespoke ceremonies that bring comfort. I’ll give you feedback on your writing, help you refine your skills, and support your journey every step of the way—from your very first client enquiry to confidently leading your first service.

Unique Framework

My signature framework blends emotional intelligence, writing craft, business foundations, and inclusive practice to help you become a confident, well-rounded celebrant. It’s not just about “how to do a funeral”—it’s about why this work matters, and how to do it in a way that feels ethical, grounded, and uniquely yours.

You’ll explore how to navigate sensitive conversations, how to honour diverse families and cultures, and how to build a sustainable business that reflects your values. You’ll also receive safeguarding training, including CPD-certified child protection, because professionalism and care go hand in hand.

This isn’t just training. It’s transformation—into the celebrant you’re meant to be.

Frequently Asked Questions

What experience do I need to begin funeral celebrant training?

None at all. Our training is designed for beginners and those looking for a career change. What matters most is your willingness to support others with compassion and professionalism. We’ll guide you from the very beginning with structure, clarity, and personal feedback.

What’s the difference between the self-paced and live training?

Our self-paced training allows you to access all modules at once and work through them at a rhythm that suits your schedule. The live training is delivered over six weeks with interactive sessions, live discussions, and a small group setting. Both options include lifetime access to resources, personalised feedback, and access to our celebrant network.

What kind of support will I receive after the training ends?

Support doesn’t stop when the course finishes. All students are invited to ongoing online networking and learning sessions every six weeks, plus a dedicated Q&A session one week after completing your training. You’ll be welcomed into a community of celebrants who continue to grow and learn together.

Is this course suitable for neurodivergent learners?

Yes. My approach to training is inclusive, trauma-informed, and neurodivergent-friendly. Our course materials are structured with flexibility in mind, and we create a supportive environment where every student is encouraged to learn in a way that works for them.

Will I be qualified to work as a funeral celebrant?

Yes. This training gives you the practical tools, ceremonial writing skills, and business knowledge to begin working as an Independent Funeral Celebrant. It’s also one of the few training programmes recommended by the Association of Independent Celebrants (AOIC).

How do I know if this path is right for me?

If you feel drawn to support others during moments of loss and change, and you want to make a meaningful difference, this work may be an incredibly fulfilling fit. I recommend booking an Informed Decision Session—a 20–30 minute call with Dinah—to ask questions, explore the role, and see if this path aligns with your values and strengths.

Let’s Talk First

Before you enrol, I invite you to book an Informed Decision Session — a 20–30 minute Zoom call where you can ask questions, explore your goals, and see whether this training feels like the right next step for you.
